DENVER, CO - The Mystics fought for all their worth in the National 7s Quarterfinal last night, but went down 17-19 to Old Blue. The Mystics held a 12-7 lead at the half, but the only difference between the two sides was their style of play - the Mystics were spreading the ball wide in search of gaps, while Old Blue were bulling it up the middle once they got within striking range. The result was that the Mystics couldn't convert two of their tries from out wide, and lost the lead when Old Blue scored under the posts with seconds left to play. The Mystics managed to bring the ball back to midfield before conceding a penalty, allowing Old Blue to kick the ball Ito touch and claim their spot in the semis. The Mystics will be back in action at 12:40pm EDT today, as they take on last year's champions, the Seattle Saracens, in the Plate semifinal on Field 4. The match will be streamed online - let's get behind the Mystics as they aim to close out strong!
