U19 Gulls Heading to Nationals

After an undefeated summer season, the Mystic River Rugby Club U19 program has accepted a bid to participate in the National High School Invitational in Minneapolis, MN on August 10-11, 2017. This marks the first time the program has been invited to compete on the national stage. The select side team is comprised of players from six regional high schools and also includes nine players selected to the Northeast Academy in Boston. Program Director Thomas Clark has confirmed that Josh Smith, Head Coach of Mystic River Rugby Club, will coach the squad.  Coach Smith will be assisted by Kareem Afifi, Boston College; Mort Sullivan, Catholic Memorial; and Ben Nathan, St. John's Prep.
