Mystic River Summer Youth Rugby

MALDEN, MA – This third year program runs Thursday nights from June 19 – July 31 (from 7pm-8:30pm). Last year’s program was a major success as we had over 32 Mystics aged 6-14 wearing blue and playing rugby!

We play a form of non-contact rugby based on American Flag Rugby rules. It is similar to touch rugby and is a great opportunity for boys and girls aged 6-14 to learn basic rugby skills while running around and having fun.

Last season ended with a Jamboree that we hosted at Pine Banks Park where over 80 kids participated in a number of matches. Please forward this information to family and friends with children that may be interested.

Congratulations Mystic NERFU U-20 All-Stars

PITTSBURGH, PA – This weekend 5 young Mystics will be representing NERFU in the U-20 All Star Challenge Cup in Pittsburgh, PA. This LAU tournament is run by USA Rugby with national coaches present looking to select players for the National U-20 pool. Adnan Kawuma (Malden HS), David Kimemiah (Northeast Metro Tech), Dimitri Efthimiou (Brookline HS), Ben Green (Brookline HS), and Alex Brussard (B.C. High) all made the NERFU side after a tough 4 week selection process. We wish them luck and look forward to seeing them representing the Mystics well. GO BLUE!

Mystics Reclaim Bull Moose Crown

NORTH CONWAY, NH – Two Mystic sides made the trek north to compete in Mt. Washington Valley RFC’s annual Rugby on the Rockpile Tournament. After a disappointing third place finish last year, the Mystics came out with guns blazing defeating Burlington and Portland to take home the championship. In the Social Division, the Mystics defeated Saranac Lake and Central Maine, to go on to take second place honors against Middlesex. A superb showing all around for the Mystics.
