Mystics Stay Undefeated Atop NERFU

PINE BANKS – As expected, Mystic River faced their toughest test in a very strong undefeated Amoskeag team. With a first half mired by mental errors and mistakes, the Mystics were again able to put together some better rugby in the second half. Fueled by some great individual efforts and sticking to a tactical gameplan, Mystic put the game away late with a final score of 40-17 that doesn’t reflect how close this game really was.

Mystics Defeat South Shore

WEYMOUTH, MA – After starting hot with a try in the first 60 seconds, the Mystics cooled off and actually found themselves trailing 20-24 at halftime to newly promoted South Shore. But it didn’t take long to regain control in the second half as the Mystics put up 42 unanswered points behind strong play of Dimitri Efthimiou and Joe “Hollywood” Shurmaitis to take a commanding 62-24 lead at the final whistle.

Next up, the Mystics open the season at Pine Banks against Amoskeag who are also 2-0 in league play.
