Mystic River defeated a determined NOVA side 27-17. NOVA pulled the game level at 17-17 late before two tries put the game away for the Boston club.

“We have mixed feelings about the performance,” said Mystic captain Jamie Green. “We won, but we had too many penalties and missed tackles. If we want to go further in the playoffs we need to cut out those errors.”

Green said NOVA played well, especially for a team on the road in playoff rugby, but his squad put it together when it counted.

“We kind of looked each other in the eye and realized we needed to play better,” said Green.

Bruce Van Boeckel Run/Walk for Hospice

Connecticut River Internists are proud to announce the 2nd Annual Bruce’s Run/Walk for Hospice. The late Dr. Bruce Van Boeckel was a key founding member and the first Medical Director of Hospice of Franklin County in 2004, and one of the original partners of Connecticut River Internists. We will be holding this event each year to raise much needed monies to honor Dr. Van Boeckel’s commitment to the provision of locally based hospice care in Franklin County. Hospice provides many programs and services to the Franklin County community for terminally ill patients and their families regardless of their ability to pay.

The 2011 Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, April 17th at 8 Burnham Street (office of Connecticut River Internists), Turners Falls, Mass. Building on the success of our 2010 event, three options will be offered this spring: a 2 mile Fun Walk, a 5K Run and 10K Run. The course for each of these will be along the beautiful Turners Falls bike path. Be sure to view the photo show of the 2010 run/walk event on our website: www.ctriverinternists.com

At this time, we are seeking sponsorships from local area businesses. As you can imagine, this event is extremely important to us here at CRI and we hope we are able to count on your support of this valuable local resource for end of life care and services. Money raised for Hospice of Franklin County stays right here serving families in Franklin County. Your sponsorship is a tax deductible expense.
