For the fourth straight year, the Mystic River Collegiate Select XV will be traveling to Montreal, Quebec on Friday, June 17th to take on the Lower Canada Voyageurs. Due to the program’s success over the last three years, we are expecting the prospective player pool to double this year. To find the best collegiate talent, we will be holding try-outs at Pine Banks Park starting on Tuesday, May 31st. This trip has helped build the club in the few years it has been active, with a number former Collegiate Select XV members going on to don the Mystic jersey. Those players include Diego Maquieira, Chris Frazier, Joe Hastry, Aaron Smith, Aaron Reich, Michael Rudzinsky and Martin Keuchkerian. Like any tour, the trip is expensive and requires player travel and housing for the weekend. While corporate sponsorships will offset some of the cost, donations of any amount are always greatly appreciated.
