MALDEN, MA — The Mystic River Rugby Collegiate Select XV will be traveling to Montreal, Quebec on Friday, June 17 to take on the Lower Canada Voyageurs for their fourth annual rugby contest. The 25 members of the Collegiate Select squad were selected following three weeks of tryouts hosted at Pine Banks Park in Malden, MA. The player pool consists of players who attend a variety of colleges across the United States and one in Ireland. The Lower Canada Voyageurs are a representative U19 side drawn from Eastern Ontario and Quebec. Continue reading

National Championship Match Report

GLENDALE, CO – The Mystics managed to stick out the full 80 minutes against the Austin Blacks in a back and forth contest that was up for grabs until the final minutes of the game. The final score was 45-33 to the Mystics, but the match was an incredibly close contest until the Mystics scored in the dying minutes to put them out of Austin reach. The Mystics are in the D1 National Championship!
PITTSBURGH, PA – We are thrilled to announce that the Mystics are the D1 East Champions and will be playing in the D1 National Championships for the first time since 1992! The boys showed huge grit and determination in Pittsburgh this weekend as they claimed muddy, hard-fought victories against Metropolis and Old Blue. We will be sharing more details about the Championship match in due course, but we already know that we will be playing last year’s losing finalist, the Austin Blacks, in Glendale, CO on June 4. Mystics ready for Metropolis in Elite 8
The Mystics are eager to make their return to the D1 Elite 8 against Metropolis at 5pm this Saturday in Pittsburgh, PA. The last time the two teams faced off was in the 2012 Elite 8 in Pittsburgh, where Metropolis moved on to the Final Four, so the Mystics are especially keen to avenge that loss this Saturday!
