Mystic 2nd XV Best CT Yankees

PINE BANKS – After last week’s crushing defeat by Amoskeag, the Mystics 2nd XV took the field against the Connecticut Yankees at Pine Banks. The Mystics looked in good form, with the pack applying constant pressure and the backline keeping the score one step ahead of the Yankees.

Led by veteran captain Bobby Ankenbauer and Man of the Match Jack Mahoney, the Mystic backline were able to keep one step ahead of the Yankees for 80 minutes and secure a 24-15 victory.

Mystics Blank Montreal Irish

PINE BANKS – The Mystics dominated the visiting Montreal Irish throughout the first half keeping the Canadian side scoreless while touching down several tries. The Irish woke up slightly in the second half, but the Mystics kept them scoreless through eighty minutes. Mystic River took the match 36-0.

Mystics Defeat Wolfhounds

PINE BANKS – Mystic River opened up hard to take a 14-0 halftime lead but after several transgressions in the second half and down a man for 20 minutes the Hounds were able to score. Final score Mystic 26 – Wolfhounds 12.

The Killer Bs held their own against the Hounds DIII side for most of the match but eventually succumbed. Final score Mystic B 19 – Hounds DIII 27.

Mystics Open Spring Season

PINE BANKS – Mystic River opened their Spring Season against New Haven in a rematch of last fall’s playoff game. In that match up, New Haven topped the Mystics 23-12. This time, the two clubs fought to a 19-19 stale mate at the final whistle.
