Squad for 7s Nationals Announced!
The Mystics are proud to announce the squad that will be traveling to Des Moines, IA to represent the team at the USA Rugby 7s National Championships this coming weekend. The squad includes two players with World Sevens Series experience, and almost every player on the squad has been involved in the Northeast Rugby Olympic Development Academy, with a number participating in the ODA’s stellar showing in the Elite and Aces brackets at the Las Vegas Invitational 7s earlier this year. Support the Mystics at the 7s Nationals!
After a dominant Northeast 7s season, the Mystics have clinched their spot in the USA Rugby National Sweet 16 with two 25+ point victories at the Blazing 7s in New Jersey! The Mystics will be travelling to Des Moines, Iowa for the tournament on August 8-9. Given their strong showing in the Northeast competition, the Mystics are looking to make a serious run at Nationals this year. As part of that effort we want to support the guys on the squad by ensuring that the trip is not a huge financial burden for them.
We are running an IndieGoGo campaign to help raise money towards the overall costs of the trip, and are asking all Mystic supporters to help by donating any and all amounts, AND by spreading the word about the campaign. Mystics win Hell Gate 7s to lead NRU standings
The Mystics won the Hell Gate 7s on Saturday to take the lead in the NRU standings after two of four qualifying tournaments.
The Mystics beat the Connecticut Bulldogs 31-26 in the final to claim their first cup victory of the season. Highlights from the final below are thanks to Next Level Rugby, who have been providing lots of footage from the NRU qualifiers this season.
